A Local Business Built on Integrity

Hodgson Green Construction was founded by Charlie Hodgson and Chris Green, bringing together decades of hands-on experience across building, renovation and carpentry. Having worked alongside each other and within the same family building background for many years, the business was built around a shared approach — doing things properly, taking pride in the details and treating every home with the respect it deserves.

Today, we work across Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth and the surrounding areas, delivering everything from complete home renovations and extensions to kitchens, bathrooms, structural alterations and general building work. Whatever the scale of the project, our approach remains the same: clear communication, skilled workmanship and a finish we’re proud to put our name to.

The People Behind Hodgson Green

Hodgson Green Construction brings together two different but complementary backgrounds in the building trade. With decades of hands-on experience between them, Charlie Hodgson and Chris Green combine practical craftsmanship, project management and a shared belief in doing the job properly.

Charlie Hodgson

Co-Founder

Charlie’s career in construction began at 15, working alongside his father and learning the trade through hands-on experience in kitchens, bathrooms and multi-trade building work. After several years, he moved down south, developing specialist experience in plastering and damp proofing before establishing his own plastering business and gradually taking on a wider range of renovation work.

His career later took him to London, where he moved into site and project management on high-end residential renovations. After successfully delivering a major renovation in Notting Hill, Charlie went on to manage his own team on a complete West London property transformation — coordinating extensive structural alterations, steelwork, internal reconfiguration and refurbishment alongside the external works.

Further experience delivering extensions and renovations in Brighton & Hove saw Charlie working alongside highly experienced tradesmen with decades in the industry, giving him the opportunity to learn from traditional skills, proven methods and a wealth of practical building knowledge. He later returned home to Bridgnorth, Shropshire and joined forces with Chris to establish Hodgson Green Construction. Today, that combination of practical trade experience and project management underpins Charlie’s approach to delivering complex residential projects from beginning to end.

Chris Green

Co-Founder

Chris began his career in the building trade working for Charlie’s grandfather’s long-established construction business, giving him a strong grounding in the trade from the outset. He later had the opportunity to work alongside a highly experienced and well-regarded local carpenter, where he developed the carpentry skills that would become a major part of his career in the trade.

Chris later joined Charlie’s father’s established building business in Bridgnorth, broadening his experience further through kitchens, bathrooms, property improvements and general building work. Over the years, Charlie and Chris would also work alongside one another whenever the opportunity arose, developing complementary skills across different areas of construction.

With years of experience behind them and a shared approach to workmanship, Charlie and Chris eventually joined forces to establish Hodgson Green Construction. Chris’s extensive carpentry background remains a cornerstone of the business today, alongside a depth of practical building knowledge and an attention to detail developed through years of learning from experienced tradesmen and working hands-on across a wide range of projects.
